The Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association (CMBA) and its fundraising arm, the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Foundation (Bar Foundation), are seeking a passionate and visionary individual to become their next Chief Executive Officer.
About the Nonprofit: The CMBA is a 501(C)(6) nonprofit, professional association dedicated to serving the needs of legal and business professionals in Greater Cleveland. A voluntary membership organization, CMBA’s nearly 5,000 members include attorneys and judges, law students, paralegals, and other business professionals who work with and/or in the legal industry. The CMBA’s vision is to serve as the indispensable, go-to organization on issues of law and justice. Each day, the CMBA strives to fulfill that mission by promoting the rule of law and the legal profession by supporting, empowering and celebrating its members and the community.
About the Position: At a high level, the CEO advises and assists the Boards of Directors for both the CMBA and Bar Foundation in the development, implementation, and administration of their respective organizational policies and programs. The CEO is responsible to the Boards of Directors for the effective operation and overall management of the CMBA and Bar Foundation’s daily activities, including responsibility for a 21-person professional staff, an annual operating budget of approximately $3 million, and a $3 million endowment. This is a unique opportunity for a dynamic, collaborative, innovative, strategic, and agile leader to guide the organizations forward and increase their value to the legal, business and civic communities throughout Northeast Ohio and beyond.
