FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Richard C. Fedorovich Succeeds Deborah Z. Read as BVU Board Chair

Cleveland, Ohio – Business Volunteers, Unlimited (BVU), a regional nonprofit dedicated to connecting businesses, nonprofits, and the community through volunteerism, is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard C. Fedorovich, Executive Chairman of Bober Markey Fedorovich, as the new Chair of the Board of Directors, effective June 21, 2024. Fedorovich succeeds Deborah Z. Read who has who has served as an exceptional Board Chair since 2022.

Fedorovich brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to BVU’s vision of a vibrant and inclusive community through volunteerism. Rick’s commitment to the nonprofit sector is demonstrated in his service to an array of organizations, including serving as board chair for the Akron Community Foundation, Cleveland Leadership Center, Greater Akron Chamber, and board member for the Cleveland Clinic.  As the Executive Chairman of Bober Markey Fedorovich, he is an advocate for business volunteerism at his firm and across Northeast Ohio.

Fedorovich has been a Director of BVU’s Board since 2011, serving on the Execuive Committee, as a Co-Chair of the Business Engagement Committee and the Akron Task Force, and also as a member of the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility Committee. His leadership and vision will be instrumental in guiding the organization to surpassing our strategic goals.

BVU extends gratitude to Debbie for her impactful board leadership. During her tenure, BVU celebrated 30 years of service to the Northeast Ohio community, recognized our 4,000th board election, served more nonprofits annually than at any point in BVU’s history, and emphasized diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the organization.
