The Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland would like to offer technology assistance for two BVU nonprofit partners. Take advantage of this great opportunity at no additional cost as a member of BVU.
BVU will collect all project applications and present to the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland Technology Team for review. The team has the capacity to handle two projects over the next four months and will make a selection on the best project fit for their teams. Those nonprofits who are not chosen at this time may be deferred to a second cycle or can go through BVU’s pro bono consulting program. BVU staff will communicate with all nonprofits on project status and next steps.

Project Overview
A technology assessment will review hardware, software, IT support, data management systems and make recommendations
Project Benefits
Nonprofit will have a roadmap of technology priorities, general costs for planning purposes and recommendations on migration plan, implementation and/or vendor selection process.
Nonprofit Prerequisites
• Executive Director and/or staff members available during project time period.
• Executive and Board support for the project
• Executive briefing to provide overview of nonprofit mission, impact to community and strategic priorities as well as reasons for the need for an organization-wide technology review
• Inventory of hardware and software
Consultant Team Skills
• IT expertise: strategy, process, infrastructure and networking capabilities
• Project Management
Deliverable
Consultants will provide recommendations around updated hardware and software systems that will meet the needs of the nonprofit into the future. Recommendations will include a roadmap indicating priorities, table of implementation stages, potential resources and estimated costs.
Major Steps and Process
I. Consultants meet with nonprofit team to understand the mission, impact and structure of the nonprofit, as well as, an overview of the organizational need around technology improvements.
II. Consultants develop a work plan to present to nonprofit including a timeframe and deliverable.
III. Upon work plan agreement, consultants set up a meeting time to review current nonprofit technology and understand tech goals.
IV. Consultants research and develop recommendations, communicating with nonprofit leads as needed.
V. Consultants meet with key nonprofit leads to review initial findings
VI. Consultants present final recommendations to nonprofit leads.

Website Development
Project Overview
Development of a new website utilizing WordPress, Squarespace or GoDaddy
Project Benefits
Nonprofit will have a website that will serve as the best communication tool for the organization, demonstrating the purpose and work of the organization and how others can engage. The website will be have the ability to be easily maintained and updated by nonprofit staff.
Nonprofit Prerequisites
• Executive Director and/or staff members available during project time period.
• Executive and Board support for the project
• Executive briefing to provide overview of nonprofit mission, impact to community and strategic priorities as well as reasons for the need for a new website
• Overview of staff technical capabilities in order to maintain and update
• Overview of programs and services and how website will be utilized to more efficiently serve the community and staff.
Consultant Team Skills

Consultants will develop a user friendly website that meets the needs of the nonprofit. Staff will be trained on how to maintain and update the website.

IV. Consultants research and develop recommendations, communicating with nonprofit leads as needed.
V. Consultants meet with key nonprofit leads to review initial skeleton of website.
VI. Consultants meet with nonprofit leads to demonstrate and train staff on new website.

CRM Selection
Project Overview
Identify a CRM database that will help nonprofit track important data, names and develop relevant reporting.
Project Benefits
Nonprofit will have a CRM that will provide efficiencies for staff and allow to capture critical data, individuals and reporting that aligns with process and outcome needs.

• Executive Director and/or staff members available during project time period.
• Executive and Board support for the project
• Executive briefing to provide overview of nonprofit mission, impact to community and strategic priorities as well as reasons for the need for a new CRM
• Overview of staff technical capabilities in order to maintain and update
• Overview of programs, processes and other critical information that will be necessary to evaluate the type of CRM that will be best for the organization
