ABOUT THE SESSION

156,800 immigrants and refugees lived in Northeast Ohio in 2019, with more arriving each year since.

A growing body of research has linked immigration with positive economic and community impact. Experts also emphasize the critical role employment, healthcare, housing, and education services play in ensuring successful resettlement. On July 18, join BVU as we learn from local organizations who are making a difference for immigrants and refugees in our community. Dive into the myths, learn of the initiatives making a difference, and walk away with a new understanding of an important community topic. 

Following the webinar, BVU members are invited to sign up for the BVU Action Day on August 14th. BVU Action Days are custom volunteer projects designed for the BVU community to unite in service around an issue facing Northeast Ohio. For this session, we look forward to supporting international newcomers at a local nonprofit. More info to come!
