BVU Event Policy and Code of Conduct
BVU is committed to creating an environment where all participants can engage on important topics to improve performance and better serve our community. To ensure a positive and meaningful experience rooted in respect, inclusion, and safety, we ask that you review and adhere to the following Code of Conduct.
- Professional Behavior: Maintain professionalism and courtesy at all times, including in conversations, emails, and social media interactions related to the event. Comply with local laws and regulations governing workplace behavior.
- Respect and Dignity: Treat all individuals with dignity and respect, regardless of their race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, age, religion, or socioeconomic status. Engage respectfully in event activities, discussions, and networking. Respect personal boundaries.
- No Disruptive Behavior: Avoid disruptive, aggressive, or inappropriate behavior. BVU reserves the right to exclude any individual from participation in any event or expel any individual in attendance at any event if they engage in unprofessional, disruptive, disrespectful, or harassing behavior.
- Security Compliance: If you pose a security risk or fail to comply with BVU’s terms, you may be ejected or refused entry to the event.
- Media & Recording: BVU events may be filmed and distributed across BVU’s branded media platforms, and photographs of attendees may be taken and distributed. To request that we not use a particular photo of you in future materials, please email the photo and your request to info@bvuvolunteers.org.
- Personal Recording: You may take reasonable video/audio recordings and photographs for personal use. Commercial use or distribution of event recordings or materials requires prior written consent from BVU.
- Speakers: BVU reserves the right to substitute alternative presenters in the event of unforeseen circumstances. The views expressed by guest speakers are their own and do not necessarily reflect those of BVU.
- Accessibility: Our team is committed to ensuring BVU events are inclusive and accessible to all. If you require accommodations or have questions about accessibility, please contact us in advance (preferably two weeks before the event) so we can make the necessary arrangements.
- Cancellation Policy: Due to limited capacity, we ask that registrants cancel via email at least 3 business days prior to a scheduled seminar. While BVU generally cannot offer refunds for seminar fees, we can provide the following options for timely cancellations: 1) You may send someone in your place to attend the originally scheduled seminar, or 2) You may apply your registration fee toward a future seminar in the same series (within 1 year). Please contact info@bvuvolunteers.org with any questions or to request a cancellation. Cancellations made within 3 business days of the seminar may not be able to be accommodated.
- Non-Refundable Payments: Except as otherwise specified, event registration payments are non-refundable. Participants who are removed from events due to violation of this Code of Conduct will not receive event registration refunds.
- Questions: If you have any questions, please contact info@bvuvolunteers.org.
This Code of Conduct applies to participants at all virtual, hybrid and in-person events. It is non-negotiable, may be revised at any time, and is in addition to any other applicable terms of participation. BVU reserves the right to suspend or revoke an organization’s or individual’s membership if any associated member fails to adhere to the policies outlined above. Reasonable notice will be provided whenever possible, and a refund may be issued at BVU’s discretion.
