About the Event:
As nonprofits face growing complexities and challenges, getting the governance right has never been more important. Nonprofit boards play a pivotal role in shaping the success of nonprofit organizations in Northeast Ohio. Whether you’re an experienced board member or considering joining a board, this event is designed to help you excel in your responsibilities and drive positive change.
This highly acclaimed seminar features an expert panel that will share their experience, discuss the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board members, and consider challenges and opportunities facing nonprofits. Attendees can expect:
- “Role of the Board” Presentation: BVU’s senior staff dives into the core roles and responsibilities of board members.
- Legal Overview: A local attorney lays out the legal duties of Ohio-based nonprofit boards, including how they show up in practice.
- Expert Panel Discussion: The attorney joins nonprofit staff and board leaders for an insightful Q&A moderated by a BVU expert with opportunity for audience dialogue.
- Interactive Breakout Groups: Attendees split into panelist-led breakout groups to prepare for the complexities of the boardroom through analysis and discussion of a case study (sent out ahead of time).
