Guests receive free haircuts at the 2024 Homeless Stand Down.

CLEVELAND, OH – On Saturday, April 26th at Cleveland Public Auditorium, local nonprofit Business Volunteers Unlimited (BVU) will host the annual Homeless Stand Down. Now in its 34th year, the powerful event provides neighbors in need with hot meals, personal items, haircuts, medical services, and much more.

The nation saw an 18% increase in homelessness last year, with over 5,000 people estimated to have experienced homelessness in Cuyahoga County alone. While the issue requires long-term solutions, those affected cannot wait. The Homeless Stand Down is a concentrated effort to provide both immediate support and long-term resources, from cancer screenings to legal aid information.

Along with the support of generous event sponsors, BVU’s Homeless Stand Down is possible thanks to the participation of over 500 volunteers and organizations. Rick Fedorovich, BVU Board Chair and Executive Chairman of Bober Markey Fedorovich, shares:

“BVU’s Homeless Stand Down is a testament to the power of people coming together to make a meaningful impact. As the connector between our region’s businesses, nonprofits, and volunteers, BVU is honored to be able to convene hundreds of community members to provide a day of respite, resources, and reconnection to those in need.”

The 2025 Homeless Stand Down will take place at Cleveland Public Auditorium on Saturday, April 26th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Over 1,000 attendees are expected. Those interested in supporting the event can donate funds, sign up to volunteer, and/or provide goods.
