SUMMARY:Nonprofit Seminar Series: Building Your Funding Playbook
DESCRIPTION:[spacer height=”20px”] \nTHIS EVENT IS SOLD OUT. \n  \nABOUT THE SESSION \nRaising funds as a nonprofit organization is hard\, tiresome work that oftentimes feels as if you’re reaching out to the same donors and sources time and again. Join us on July 11th for an in-person seminar on the playbook for nonprofit funding\, where you will meet industry-leading experts that specialize in philanthropy\, state and federal appropriations\, tax credit equity and bank financing to learn what tools are available to raise funds for capital projects and programs. Even better\, you’ll learn how all of these funding sources can be woven together to allow your project to be completed on time\, on budget\, and on mission. \nWhen: Thursday\, July 11 | 9:00-10:30am\nWhere: CanalWay Center | 4524 E 49th St\, Cuyahoga Heights\, OH 44125\nCost: Members $25 | Nonmembers $50\n \n[spacer height=”15px”] \nABOUT THE SPEAKERS \nJaros Strategy: Philanthropy \nFor over 35 years\, Susan Jaros has provided exceptional fundraising guidance to more than 60 diverse nonprofit organizations. Susan has designed and executed comprehensive and capital fundraising campaigns\, provided strategic leadership\, and managed day-to-day development and external affairs functions. A Jaros Strategy consultant since 2013\, Julie Conrad brings more than 25 years of communications strategy and expertise to organizations’ fundraising opportunities and challenges. As a former public relations professional\, Julie collaborates with executive directors\, board members\, and development/marketing directors to differentiate organizations’ missions and programs with an eye toward the competitive landscape. \nTogether\, their areas of expertise include integrating fundraising and communications strategies to identify and engage nonprofit organizations’ target audiences\, assessing nonprofit organizations’ readiness to embark on a fundraising campaign\, crafting fundraising campaign strategies and plans\, and providing counsel through fundraising campaign implementation. \nWyncroft Strategies: State and Federal Appropriations \nBlake Springhetti founded Columbus-based government affairs group Wyncroft Strategies in 2018\, with core competencies in executive and legislative lobbying\, political consulting\, appropriations\, and procurement. Springhetti has over a decade of experience as a campaign strategist\, winning dozens of elections across Ohio before joining the Ohio House of Representatives\, most recently serving as Majority Director of Finance. His areas of expertise include Appropriations and Procurement\, Public Affairs and Coalition Building\, Policy and Fiscal Analysis\, and Economic and Infrastructure Development. \nYour CFO Resource: Tax Credit Equity and Bank Financing \nAfter a 13-year career in corporate banking\, Betsy Vuillemot-Figgie founded Your CFO Resource to help bridge the gap in bank negotiations that nonprofit organizations often faced without the leadership support of a formal CFO. Now\, Betsy helps NPOs\, civic-minded developers\, and select for-profit corporations present financing requests using conventional and tax-credit enhanced funding structures and terminology and represents the clients in competitive negotiations with multiple banks. \n  \nABOUT THE SERIES \nBVU’s nonprofit seminars invite our region’s nonprofits to come together for educational and insightful discussions. Past sessions have included Move Your Mission Forward with Story\, Cultivating a Board of Fundraisers\, Intro to Cybersecurity\, Creating LGBTQ+ Inclusive Workplaces\, and more.
