DESCRIPTION:As nonprofits face growing complexities and challenges\, getting the governance right has never been more important.  As a board member\, you bring relevant skills\, expertise and networks to the organization.  It is important to have a clear understanding of what your job is as a board member\, and what it’s not. \nThe key to your organization’s success depends on the board and the chief executive developing a competitive and forward vision\, leading the organization through change\, and developing resources to accomplish objectives. Organizations are effective when the board and staff recognize their respective roles and work in concert. \nThis seminar features an expert panel that will share their experience\, discuss the roles and responsibilities of nonprofit board members and consider challenges and opportunities facing nonprofits. DESCRIPTION:BVU connects our nonprofit partners with skills-based volunteers to work together on projects in various areas.  These 60-minute one-on-one meetings provide an opportunity for the nonprofit and the skills-based volunteer to work on a small project or the skills-based volunteer can answer questions or provide practical suggestions.  The goal of Ask the Expert session is for the nonprofit to leave the meeting and be able to implement some of the recommendations provided right away. \nSIGN UP TO FIND ASSISTANCE FOR YOUR NONPROFIT\nVOLUNTEER YOUR TIME AS AN EXPERT CONSULTANT\n  \nThe skills-based volunteer and nonprofit will be matched based upon the volunteer’s strengths and the needs articulated by the nonprofit. \n[accordions id=”3194″] \n
