Join BVU for a new Nonprofit Leadership Summit format. Instead of a one-day in-person session we have optimized this educational event over eight 1.5 hour long sessions to provide our nonprofit stakeholders with convenient access to relevant and timely content. Join us to learn from seasoned experts in the fields of finance, technology, human resources, communications, strategic planning, and board governance. Each of the eight sessions will be packed with useful and practical knowledge focused on nonprofit management and governance topics, helping you and your organization build a strategic road map for 2021.

Embracing the Long View: Scenario Planning in the Time of COVID-19

At this tumultuous time, one of the most essential commitments nonprofit leaders must make is to ‘embrace the long view’ and engage their organizations in keeping eyes on the horizon. This session will explore the process of scenario planning which addresses the primary question: What might the lives of northeast Ohio’s nonprofit community look and feel like like 24 months from now?
Based on a scenario planning model developed by Jewish Federation of North America, we will explore four plausible scenarios and a number of essential questions that can provide a framework of long-term strategic thinking for nonprofit organizations, their leaders and boards.
Finances: Finding Financial Resiliency in an Era of COVID-19

As the nation grapples with the COVID-19 crisis, nonprofits face tough decisions about how to sustain their organizations within an ever-changing landscape. Without a clear sense of how long social distancing will last and how much emergency or government stimulus funding will be available, nonprofit leaders are having to make immediate adjustments while also planning for the future amidst great economic uncertainty. While no one knows how long this global pandemic will last or what recovery will ultimately look like, this webinar is intended to give leaders of Ohio’s nonprofit organizations the opportunity to come together and pick up practical tips for preparing for the future. Alice Antonelli from Nonprofit Finance Fund will offer lessons learned from the field on how nonprofits are approaching decision making, capitalization, and the use of reserves during this uncertain time.
